John Jasper Cox was from Virden. The back of the photo is marked: "Photog. Decrevel Bros. Virden & Jerseyville." This photo was identified with the help of Illinois Civil War buff, Steve Hicks, who found the same shot in a period local (Virden area) newspaper which used the same shot! |
